YouTube Gem: “Stand By Me” by The Original Signature Sound Quartet

Todays YouTube clip is one of my favorite songs, by one of my favorite groups.  Back in 2002, Ernie Haase & Garry Jones formed Signature Sound Quartet. The group also featured Shane Dunlap at lead, Doug Anderson at baritone, and Tim Duncan at bass.  The original lineup was absolutely awesome! Their introduction to the Southern Gospel world was their rendition of and old spiritual,  “Stand By Me”, featuring Duncan.

The group rearranged and the song and included it on their newest album, Here We Are Again, with new bass vocalist Ian Owens taking the lead, but its nowhere close to the greatness of the original cut.

Heres the original lineup singing it, from their first video. Enjoy!
