  1. I’ve been a Southern Gospel fan since before I knew it was Southern Gospel. The Kingdom Heirs are just about the perfect quartet as far as I’m concerned. I prefer quartets to trios. I’ve seen most of the “big name” groups in the country. I like music that I haven’t heard before and I’m always looking for something new. I like quite a bit of the music of The Old Paths (I know they’re coming off the road) but I need to keep finding new music and, if possible, new groups. I have satellite radio and pretty much only listen to EnLighten but I only like a small portion of what they play. I liked the Cathedrals back about twenty years ago but since they aren’t around anymore I don’t listen to that music much. In my humble opinion, the best thing a trio can do is to add a bass. I’ve enjoyed many concerts with the Whisnants, Greater Vision, and the Booth Brothers but I’d like them all better if they had a bass singer. I like group who are really committed Christians. As far as I know, all of the groups I’ve mentioned above live what they sing. I absolutely loved the Christmas Jubilee from the Christmas before last. They weren’t in my area this last Christmas so I wasn’t able to see it. I’d like to go to more concerts but there aren’t a lot where I live. I subscribe to Singing News and get emails from Gospel Gigs so I pretty much know who is singing and where. We drive a couple of hundred miles or more if there’s a concert that we like.
